FMAB Prologue~

Yay! I now present the first part of the amazing Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood FanFiction That Is Yet To Be Named!

(Well, okay, it's the prologue...)

SOMEWHERE IN CENTRAL...

“So, Colonel...” Israel Elysium said through gritted teeth, “Is there a reason you had us all squeeze into a phone box?”

“You're in there on your own accord.” Colonel Roy Mustang said. March could imagine him shrugging.

Really, there were five of them in the small phone box. Israel Elysium, the older of them all, with a grand total of 15 on his shoulders, Thalia Jane Circe, clad in black, her, March Saxon, the girl with flaming red hair, and what seemed to be two capuchin monkeys, Leviathan and Passerine, dubbed Lei and Rin for short. All, as one may have gathered, were stuffed into a phone box in Central upon hearing that they were supposed to call their superior.

“I can't breathe!” Thalia complained, shoving Israel and March to the side as she waved her hands around.

“Neither can I!” Israel exclaimed, shoving Thalia back. March, the one with both monkeys on respective shoulder made a sound of discomfort, being the one in-between them. Not to mention she was also the smallest.

“If either of you step on my foot one more time,” March warned, “I will go outside, find a sharp pointy stick, gorge your eyes out with it, and laugh.”

Rin laughed almost hysterically, as if to prove March's point.

“What was that?” Mustang asked from the other end. “You don't have those chimeras in there, do you?”

“Well, they're not going to sit outside!” March objected. “And they're more monkey then chimera!”

“But really, Colonel.” Israel said. He tried to ignore Thalia's elbow in his rib. “What was it that you wanted to see us for?”

“There's a mission I need you for, before you three head back to East City.”

“Oh.” Thalia chuckled nervously. “You heard about that?”

“Yes. I also found your pile of leftover paperwork, Israel.” Mustang said. “For the son of two scholars, it's odd how you have a completely different objective in your career.”

“I hate paperwork...” Israel muttered, coughing slightly.

“I finished mine!” March sang.

“So, the mission?” Thalia asked, moving her elbow, resting it on March's head. March tried to ignore it.

“There's a rouge alchemist who's sneaked into Central, by the name of Isaac McDougal. Aka, The Freezing Alchemist. The mission is simply to detain him and bring him in.” Mustang said. There was the faint sound of papers in the background. “You'll be working with the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother Alphonse Elric as well.”

“We know who they are...” Thalia muttered quietly, then said, louder, “Where are Ed and Al now?”

“Oh. You'll also have to catch them at the station before they leave back to East City themselves. Stop them before the train leaves at roughly 8:15.”

Thalia looked down at the sudden pocket watch she had suddenly whipped out of her pocket, and made a sound that was a mixture of a squeak and a roar. “It's 8:05 right now!”

“What?” Israel shouted, taking a step back. However, being in a phone box, he ended up twisting and falling out of it. Thankfully, he caught himself before he hit the ground, already sprinting off in the direction of the station, brown coat flying after him.

“Wait for me, you idiot!” Thalia screamed, and was off as well.

“Ah! W-Wait no!” March tripped out as well, spinning on the ground before jumping up again (much to the monkeys' distaste at being tossed around so suddenly), calling after her to the phone that was hanging off the receiver. “I hate you Mustang!”

Mustang's voice laughed out of the phone.

CENTRAL TRAIN STATION...

Two kids that looked about the ages of 15 and 13 were running through the some-what thick crowds at Central Train Station. Trying their best not to get in anyones way (and failing miserably), one could look and them and immediately come to the conclusion that they had something to do.

One of the two, the 13 year old girl, was dressed clad in black. Even her hair, flowing down in dark waves, was as black as night. Donning a black cargo jacket, there was a small book poking out of her back pant pockets. Silver pocket watch in hand, she was constantly checking the time, and upon every look, her face grew more frantic.

The other boy had a brown trench coat with a alchemy-related transmutation symbol on the back. His short brown hair was ruffled as if messed with multiple times, and his strong arms and legs worked together as he ran, allowing him to slip easily past places.

The two stopped together as they came into the large, open area where the train was, looking left and right.

“Where do you think they could be?” Thalia asked, breathing heavily.

Israel shook his head, as if clearing it. “I don't know. Maybe-” He frowned, stopping in mid-sentence. “Hey, where's Mar?”

“Oh.” Thalia blinked. “Shoot.”

“Mar!” Israel called. “March Saxon!”

“March!” Thalia yelled. Suddenly, nearly parallel to where they were standing, a girl wearing a navy blue military jacket and two monkeys on her shoulders practically flew from another doorway, her flaming red hair flying behind her. Canon-balling over a pile of luggage, March already had her sights set on a pair of boys, about to get on the train.

Thalia and Israel saw them too.

"Israel!" Thalia nudged him, pointing to the two. "Look!"

Israels eyes widened. "ED! AL! WATCH OUT!"

March was closing in. It wouldn't go well if she jumped on Alphonse. The boy was dressed in a giant suit of armor, after all. Well, he was the armor.

But the Elric boys didn't hear Israel's warning.

“EDWARD ELRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!” March yelled, taking a massive leap...

...and jumping right onto Ed, sending the poor boy tumbling.

Thalia burst into hysterical laughter, grabbing onto Israel for support, who was trying his best not to laugh hysterically.

“March!” Al exclaimed, while Edward tried to stand with the (if possible) smaller girl still hanging from his neck. Rin and Lei both hopped onto Alphonse's shoulders instead, much to his delight.
Ed waved his arms around wildly. “GET OFF ME!” He yelled.

“No!” March squealed, clinging tighter.

“OFF!”

“Nope!”

Israel and Thalia came forward, making to attempt of prying March from Ed.

“Mustang has one more mission for us before we all go back to East City.” Thalia said, grinning with her hands on her hips.

“We were going to Liore, not East City...” Ed muttered. He suddenly forgot that there was a girl clinging to him like a koala bear. “Wait, what?”

“Apparently we're supposed to catch a rogue alchemist.” Israel said. “Isaac McDougal.”

Ed crossed his arms. “Hm.”

“And he wanted us seven to catch him?” Al said. Rin poked at his helmet, trying to pry it off.

Israel nodded. “That seems to be what's happening.”

“There's only five of us, Al.” Ed said, eying March, who eyed him right back.

“No! There's Rin and Lei too!”

“They're MONKEYS!”

“Okay!” Thalia broke in, clapping her hands happily. She started to turn away. “Let's go catch us an alchemist!”

As the group started to walk out of the station, Israel turned to March, who was still clinging to Ed.

“Um...are you going to hang to him this whole time?”

March said “Sure, why not.” the same time Edward said “No!”

AFTER A CERTAIN DECICION OF TACTICS...

Thalia stood in the darkness of the alleyway. She heard whistles in the background, quick footsteps and yells. Alchemy being used. But she wasn't part of it. But, all the same she was. At that very moment, she was everything, and she knew exactly the things she had to do to stay incognito.

Israel stood watching from the roof, to the left. March stood on the rooftop to the right. Ed and Al would be coming soon now, Isaac...

...well, speak of the devil.

The Freezing Alchemist ran into the alley, burning and freezing two other soldiers who just happened to be there at the wrong time.

Her hands clenched into fists slightly. Thalia didn't quite liked him already. But she had to admire his use of water alchemy.

Isaac jumped back suddenly as a spear sliced through the air, nearly hitting him. His face showed realization.

“Alchemy.” Thalia said, stepping out of the shadows.

“What a nasty thing to do.” Edward Elric said as he slowly walked up as well.

“I agree.” The black-clad girl nodded.

“In order to do great things, sacrifices must be made.” Isaac said. Thalia noted that he was dressed in a dirty military uniform, with what could be described as a brown cape. She stepped forward slightly as his voice grew in volume. “It's what's known as equivalent exchange.”

“There's no way that you can call that equivalent exchange!” Ed clapped his hands together, creating blue alchemy sparks. Israel and March dropped down from the sides, trapping Isaac. The spear that had nearly hit Isaac from before was grasped in Ed's hand, shaping as they looked at it. Edward swung that large bat, pointing it at Isaac.

“Without a transmutation circle...!” The older alchemist exclaimed.

March's eyebrows shot up at the small replica of Ed's face on the end. “And no artistic taste...”

“You can't afford to be so intrigued!” Ed yelled, running for Isaac. He dropped as Alphonse swung at him from behind, Thalia jumping onto Al's shoulders, then higher, about to land on Isaac.

Ed's hammer was swung down, but hit the gauntlet on Isaac's arm with a clang. March darted forward, swinging her legs out from under Isaac's, causing him to fall the cobblestone street. However, that didn't faze him. As Ed was preparing to take another swing, Isaac's legs shot up, nearly hitting Al, leaving a disappointed Thalia landing just next to him.

Ed's hammer hit again, but (again) ran into the trouble of Isaac's gauntlet. Isaac tried to do his fancy water trick on Ed by grasping his arm, but all it resulted in was the ripped sleeve of Ed's jacket.

“What?” Isaac exclaimed. Israel moved forward with a punch, but Isaac grabbed his arm, tossing him over his shoulder, the same thing happening with Al. “Impossible! Any water in there should have boiled!”

Mar helped Israel up, saying his name softly.

“You ruined my coat, you know.” Ed said. The five teenagers (and two monkeys on Mar's shoulders) all stood, gathering themselves together again.

“Automail!” Isaac said slowly, seeing the shiny metal arm where Edward's real one should have been.

Ed dramatically took off his coat, Al rose behind him. Thalia jumped on Al's shoulder, and Israel stood next to Ed on the other side, March standing with her arms crossed slightly behind them.

“The skills of a gifted alchemist.” Isaac said. “One who doesn't use transmutation circles, as well as a automail right arm...! You are the Fullmetal Alchemist, Edward Elric?”

March rolled her eyes. “Finally he gets it...” She muttered.
